New Open Roles, and Meet the Human Simulation Lab
Alpaca Health (SPC W24), Boom and BrainInnov are hiring, and a new research collective for population simulations using AI
Hi everyone,
Hope you’re having a great week!
In this newsletter edition, wanted to share some new opportunities:
Alpaca Health (SPC W24) is looking to hire a founding full-stack software engineer
The Human Simulation Lab is looking for microgrants and intros to experts
Boom is hiring two designers
BrainInnov is looking for two interns to work on machine learning/computer vision for lung cancer screening
Here we go!
Alpaca Health (SPC W24) is looking for a founding full-stack engineer
Alpaca Health is looking to make autism diagnoses more accessible and faster, and to help clinicians reduce burnout. To solve this challenge, Alpaca Health is building an all-in-one software platform to make it easier to store and process healthcare records.
Alpaca Health is backed by South Park Commons, and looking to hire a founding engineer. One of my highlights last Summer was hacking with Bao - one of the co-founders - at hackathons in SF/Bay Area hosted by Scale AI and Draper. I had a lot of fun coding with Bao during those weekends, and he’s a great friend of mine: more than glad to help with a warm intro for all those interested!

The Human Simulation Lab
I just saw a tweet earlier this week about the The Human Simulation Lab (THSL), a research collective that models and simulates populations with artificial intelligence. The Human Simulation Lab was a finalist at the UC Berkeley AI Hackathon last month, during which they demonstrated an agent-based case study to create digital twins of cities.
The THSL team is looking for microgrants, and introductions to experts/governments in similar fields, to further scale their work.
If anyone knows of any grants or warm intros, please feel free to reach out to the THSL team. I’ve crossed paths with a couple of the people building THSL, they’re awesome!
Boom is hiring two designers
Boom is a MacOS camera app that makes meetings more engaging, personalized and fun through customized on-screen features.
Boom is looking to hire one junior designer and a senior designer, with part-time work being a possibility as well.

BrainInnov is hiring two machine learning interns
BrainInnov is looking to hire two graduate-level interns to develop machine learning or computer vision models for lung cancer screening. Through BrainInnov, these two internship roles are a unique opportunity to receive guidance from domain experts affiliated with MILA, the Université de Montréal Polytechnique and CRCHUM, and NEXT AI.
