Hiring for a DevOps Role, Fundraising for Building 21, and Prism Collective in Montreal!
SlashML is hiring, funding for a interdisciplinary space from McGill, and an art x tech event in Montreal
Hi everyone,
Hope you are having a great evening!
Just wanted to share a few things that may be of interest:
SlashML Is Hiring for a DevOps Role
SlashML is a Montreal-based startup that develops full-stack infrastructure to run AI apps and workloads.
SlashML is looking to onboard someone for a part-time devops role to help work on a few current projects. No devops experience is necessary, though if you enjoy learning to build and grow in a new space - it could be an interesting role! Feel free to reach out to Faizan at SlashML at faizank [at] slashml [dot] com!
Note from Laurence: please let me know if you would like a warm intro, happy to do so!
Fundraising for Building 21, an Interdisciplinary Space at McGill
From Laurence: over the past school year, I got to meet the team and community at Building 21, an interdisciplinary space at McGill that currently hosts more than a dozen student-led projects. Due to recent funding changes, Building 21 is at risk of closing operations this month. Even though B21 has launched a crowdfunding campaign with signficiant crowdfunded contributions, it still falls short of what’s needed to keep operations running.
Projects that B21 hosts and supports includes NeuroTechX (the brain-computer interface student team at McGill), Douze à Deux (Montreal’s Socratica node) and a multitude of independent student-led projects. (The HackOS hackathons that I’ve co-hosted were developed with the support of B21).
It’s a rare, open space for students to collaborate - and a space that has a meant a lot to many students and myself as well. If you happen to know any donors or corporations who may be interested in sponsoring B21 to continue operations, please let me know - would love to offer a warm intro with the Building 21 Team.
Prism Collective’s First Art x Tech Event in Montreal
Prism Collective - an art x tech group that was recently launched at Waterloo - is hosting its first Montreal meetup this Friday, April 18 to build kinetic structures in one day! While the timing of the newsletter is a bit close, if ever you (or some friends) would be interested in joining, you are more than welcome to do so! All the details at this link!
Thanks for Reading!
Wishing everyone a great week,
Laurence
